COME INTO MY WORLD
-------------------- SEE THROUGH MY EYES.
Meet Regulus Arcturus Black, lesser known than his brother for more reasons than you might think. As the second child in his family, Regulus had always looked up to his older brother Sirius and in many ways aspired to follow in his footsteps. As expected of many siblings, you might imagine. The problems his parents saw in Sirius manifested upon his being sorted into Gryffindor, before then the Black family had managed to hide the black sheep at home. But with this shame out in full view for all to see, his family quickly turned their attention more scrutinously to Regulus and almost totally ignored the existence of his older brother.
This caused a lot of pressure and expectation to build on Regulus’ shoulders going into Hogwarts, as the days spent hanging out with his brother at home disappeared due to his parent’s disapproval. His sorting into Slytherin served as immediate gratification with the Black family breathing a collective sigh of relief. Regulus continued on to do his family proud, mainly in academics but branching into quidditch and other school activities. His time at school came with an odd sense of loneliness given the potential of how much time he could be spending with his brother, reliving fond memories of home, but having to shun him for the sake of the family name. The expectation of two sons lay with Regulus alone.
Due to his family, Regulus is a staunch slytherin at heart. He despises mudbloods and half-bloods are no better. Any form of impure magical creature like werewolves and vampires sit lower in his eyes than any pure blood. His personality reflects this, he doesn’t just give muggle borns the cold shoulder, and he sets out aggressively to remind them that they are not welcome in the halls of the illustrious Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. If Salzar Slytherin could see what his school had become, maybe he could have pushed harder for strict pure blood education. Regardless, Regulus is kind to fellow purebloods, mainly in Slytherin, but members of other houses have nothing to fear if they bite their tongue. He can be a good friend to those he believes deserve it but everyone else gets trodden on, hard.
With these dark times looming overhead, Regulus is drawn to the news to hear whatever whispers he can about Lord Voldemort. He sees the world differently, how it should be. Regulus has no shame in calling him the heir to Salzar’s throne at Hogwarts, to take power from those that seek to pull mudbloods up to our level and cast them all back down to where they belong. These thoughts would not be shared by many, at least not openly, so he keeps his admiration to himself. The Daily Prophet is a regular read for Reg, but his parents seem more interested in general gossip. He knows his actions at school are being watched more carefully than ever as Sirius gets closer and closer to graduation, he has to hold the Black name in strong regard as it is tarnished elsewhere in the school.
